We are excited to share our new annual newsletter, celebrating a year of major milestones and strategic growth for Blue Badger Wholesale!

This special edition kicks off with an end-of-year message from our Managing Director, Mark Alexander, reflecting on our continued investment in our people, systems, and service throughout the year. The message also highlights our significant achievements, including being nominated for the Catering Insight Supplier of the Year, winning the Cedabond Best Supplier Growth Award, and being rewarded the Maytag Commercial Distributer Award for Outstanding First-year Performance.

Catering Insight Award Ceremony & Nomination

We were incredibly honoured to have Blue Badger Wholesale shortlisted for the prestigious Supplier of the Year – Business Development Award at the Catering Insight Awards 2025.

While we didn’t take home the award this year, being recognised alongside such outstanding businesses in the commercial catering equipment sector is a genuine achievement and something we are truly proud of. The nomination itself reflects our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and our mission to deliver the very best experience to our customers. From enhancing our customer service and technical support systems, to streamlining our warranty processes and investing in our dealer web portal for better accessibility, everything we do is driven by our focus on supporting our partners at the highest level.

The Blue Badger Wholesale office will close for Christmas at 1pm on Wednesday 24th December 2025, and will reopen in the New Year at 8:30am on Friday 2nd January 2026.

Our service inbox (service@bluebadger.co.uk) will be monitored throughout, and voicemails will be checked periodically to ensure any urgent issues are addressed.

The following timings apply as a guide but 3rd party suppliers may differ and of course we will always do our best to help with anything urgent; contact your Account Manager for more information:

Last Economy Order Date: 2pm, Wednesday 17th December (Monday 15th for our larger Sterling Pro units)

Host Milano is globally recognised as one of the most important international exhibitions for the professional hospitality and foodservice sectors, and the Blue Badger Wholesale team was glad to be in attendance the other week in Milan, Italy.

Our Operations Manager, Simon Quinlan, and Operations Coordinator, Melanie Christ, represented us brilliantly, connecting with our valued manufacturing partners and forging exciting new relationships with innovative suppliers.

This focused time allowed us to immerse ourselves in the new technologies and future trends shaping the industry. The quality of the products on show was second to none, and seeing these impressive items firsthand ensures we are always looking ahead for our customers. We will be carefully reviewing the new equipment and solutions we saw and look forward to introducing some of these exciting additions to our range soon.

Finally, we send a massive congratulations to our partners, Diamond Europe, on celebrating 40 years of dedicated service in the hospitality sector!

Cedabond Best Supplier Growth Award Winner

We’re absolutely delighted to announce that Blue Badger Wholesale has won the Best Supplier Growth Award at this year’s Cedabond Awards.

This is a huge milestone for us and we couldn’t be prouder of our team. A massive thank you to our incredible staff for their dedication, hard work, and commitment throughout the year. This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without you.

The awards ceremony, held at the Leonardo Hotel, Hinckley Island, as part of the Cedabond Showcase, was a truly memorable evening. We were thrilled to celebrate the very best of our wonderful industry alongside host and comedy legend Shaun Williamson.

We also want to extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the other award winners. It is inspiring to see so many talented and passionate companies recognised for their achievements.

A big thank you to Cedabond for organising such a fantastic Showcase and awards ceremony. Your dedication to celebrating excellence within the industry makes these events truly special and enjoyable for everyone involved.

Staff Update: Introducing Chris Furnival & Tim Keating

Following a recent review of our Sales Operations, we identified two clear priorities from our customers: consistent account management and greater face-to-face support. To meet these needs, we are excited to announce the creation of new Regional Sales Manager roles.

We are delighted to welcome Tim Keating as Regional Sales Manager for the North and Chris Furnival as Regional Sales Manager for the South. Both will report into our Sales Manager, Tom Phillips, and will work closely with our Internal Account Managers. This means customers can expect the best of both worlds, dedicated account management and added in-person support.

These appointments reflect our commitment to investing in growth, even in challenging times. By strengthening our team, we aim to provide customers with faster responses, more tailored training, and closer collaboration to help grow their businesses.

Tim Keating - Regional Sales Manager, North

Tim brings over 40 years of experience in the Hospitality and Catering sector, with a career that began as a chef in the RAF before moving into sales roles with companies such as McDonald’s, Hobart, Peters Food Service, Brake Bros, and Pico Catering Projects. Most recently, he served as Regional Sales Manager at Maidaid, specialising in warewashing solutions.

Tim is recognised for his strong industry knowledge, relationship-building skills, and a solutions-focused approach. His passion for the products, people, and customers he serves makes him a valuable addition to our team.

Chris Furnival - Regional Sales Manager, South

Chris has been working in catering equipment sales and spare parts solutions since 2007. He began his career at Hobart UK, managing a sales support team before moving into spare parts. Later, he returned to Hobart as Regional Manager for the eco max independent range, and in recent years has continued to build expertise in the spare parts sector.

Known for his enthusiastic approach and commitment to after-sales support, Chris has built strong relationships with catering equipment dealers and maintenance companies. He looks forward to continuing these partnerships and showcasing the many solutions Blue Badger Wholesale has to offer.

Whirlpool Professional Becomes Beko Professional

As you may be aware, Whirlpool EMEA and Arçelik (parent company of Beko) completed a merger in 2024, forming a new unified company: Beko Europe. As part of this transition, the Whirlpool Atlantis top-loading machines were phased out in mid-2024 and the Front Loader Laundry equipment and Microwaves in early 2025. The next step in this evolution is the discontinuation of the Whirlpool Professional brand, which is being replaced by Beko Professional.

What Does This Mean for You?

In practical terms, very little will change. Blue Badger secured the remaining stock of Whirlpool Professional front-loading laundry equipment and the PRO 25 IX microwave, which we have been actively supplying throughout this year. As this stock is now running low, we felt it was the right time to introduce the new range.

The new Beko Professional range will look very familiar - the products are manufactured in the same factory, to the same specifications, and with very similar SKU codes: AWH912-PRO-BP / AWZ9HP-PRO-BP / PRO25IX-BP

The only visible change is the updated Beko Professional branding. These models will be phased in gradually as existing Whirlpool Professional stock is sold through, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted supply for you and your customers.

AWH912-PRO-BP Washer Transition

The Whirlpool AWH912/PRO is no longer available and its successor, the Beko Professional AWH912-PRO-BP, will not be released until early 2026. To avoid any supply disruptions, an identical interim model is being supplied under the Bauknecht brand: AWH912-PRO-BAUK. This unit is exactly the same in appearance and specification, with the only difference being the brand label.

Shown below are the remaining Whirlpool units currently available, along with their upcoming Beko Professional replacements. This includes the interim Bauknecht AWH912-PRO-BAUK washer used during the transition.
